Whatever it is, it's good to hear. One thing I've learned from reading about what the very best are like off the pitch is that they're all incredibly professional, they all do extra training, they all prepare for games in the best way possible. By all accounts it sounds like Saka is great off the pitch, hopefully ESR is too because there's nothing stopping him otherwise.

As I said the other day, I don't think you get past all the injury issues ESR had at the point in his career where he had them and make into the first team as pretty much our best, or at worst 2nd best, player this season unless you have a really positive, professional, attitude.

I know many of you like Smith Rowe at 10, I like him there myself, but are you warming to the idea him playing from the left?

I've always fancied him to end up a sort of Croydon Pires rather than De Bruyne. Right from his days in the U18s that looked the position he would really thrive in to me. I think he could be good almost anywhere in the attack, but when taking into account the things he's really good at it, that's where I want him.

I thought he was quiet today, but if he can score/assist on his lesser days then he's going to be invaluable to us.

I always liked him better on the left. Can make use of his dribbling ability and timing of his runs unmarked.

yep, drifting in and around the left channel rather than being the fulcrum in the middle is how I've always viewed him

He's good on the left, I think I've said this before but his general silkyness means it's almost like having Pires back out there...

Plus he has the license to drift inside to it suits him well
