Let's hope we actually make use of him so he can thread balls up the middle of the pitch. If we space out our midfield like at home vs Leicester... Oh dear.

Until we get better players in we’re basically hoping Auba, Partey, Gabriel and Leno are fit and turn up whilst with the rest, bar Saka, we’re hoping they don’t fuck up or toss it off

There were some really positive signs from Lacazette, Nelson, Maitland-Niles and Nketiah in Europa League this week. One or two of them could easily start today and if they do I hope they'll carry on that form.

Personally I don't really care how we line up; I just don't want to see any of the Chelsea boys on the pitch today. We have so many better options, even with Pepe suspended and Chambers in the early stages of a comeback.

What I don't like is that Arteta seems to play the players he rested midweek no matter what happens in the EL matches. So a good performance that should be a possible ticket into the league XI doesn't have any consequences. We've had plenty of performances in EL that should've made Arteta try something else than Willian the following game.

Oh and I really hope that if Partey really is playing today he isn't rushed back. That never ends well.

Yeah he's a bit rigid like that. Although Willock did get a few league appearances to be fair, and I think it was Ornstein who reported the players had been told on Thursday that they were auditioning for game time this weekend. We'll see I guess. I think Willian will start too, but maybe Nelson will get the nod on the other flank, or at least Saka with AMN coming in on the leftback. Maybe Laca can play an hour in the hole too and then get subbed off for Smith-Rowe.

I don't want to see Laca up top, he's just not cut out for it anymore, but in the 10/CAM role he could do well with the freedom and get the ball to stick in those central areas a little more.

Also, no Xhaka. His form is just too atrocious right now.

I think Xhaka is finished as a starter in the longterm too, but he will probably play today. The only other option is Elneny and he's just coming back from covid and looked rusty in Europa League.

You could go with Ceballos and Partey, it's risky in more ways than one (fitness, balance etc), but they're probably our two most talented midfielders.

Agree on the Chelsea boys, we have loads of options without them. Even if he doesn't like Nelson enough to start him we could easily got for a Saka, Laca and Auba given Lacas midweek performance. Put Willock or AMN in the hole behind Laca.

Someone like AMN could balance that out a bit in the short term.

I'd like to see them given a run of games, but I have my doubts about Ceballos against Spurs' midfield. On the other hand, he's one of the guys you can count on to be fired up for a derby.

I'd like to see AMN, Willock and Partey in midfield for this one, if Partey is fit enough to start that is. I think we'll need a lot of energy in midfield and those guys will join the attack and actually move off the ball. I'd play Saka and Nelson on the wings with them, as that midfield would hopefully enable them to play quick pass and move football in the final third and I feel they're our most talented attackers in general. Also, AMN, Willock, Saka and Nelson all know each other from the youth level, and seeing how disjointed our attack most games looks, that chemistry could well count for something.

I'll be missing this. I have plans to get drunk instead. Had a dream we won it 2-1 though, assuming that means we won't win. Can't remember the last time we scored 2 goals in a league game? Sheffield Utd at home?

Agree that Xhaka shouldn't start as he is in dreadful form but fear he will.

The only hope I have is that our boys will approach it like they have nothing to lose and at least put in a fearless performance.

Oh and fuck Spurs forever.
