Reading this post I feel happy for pyramid Pirlo but this could never happen today. This was before we really compressed th team and got a high line that allowed us to control the game through our centrebacks. Now any of Gabriel, Saliba, White, Zinchenko would have more of the ball than Elneny if he was on the field. It was also before we got Odegaard who is currently the second best player in the division. We’ve evolved significantly since this post, and the level has risen, so we won’t have to celebrate mediocrity again. No more Lacazette is a great distributor, Leno’s learning to play with his feet, Holdign can do a job at the back, invest in AMN, and all the other stories we often told ourselves.
