I don't really pay too much attention to records and stats about the last time we won at OT or away at the big 6 in general, but it would be great to get that monkey off our back.

No team news as of yet, but it sounds like Luiz is out for this one, so we'll most likely see Mustafi. With Laca in desperately poor form and Eddie no looking convincing either, I'm hoping we finally see Auba up top.

I'd go with:

Leno

Bellerin - Mustafi - Gabriel - Tierney

Ceballos - Xhaka - Partey

Pepe - Auba - Saka

I'm going for a narrow 2-1 win for us.

Fully agree with your team selection. Wouldn't be too upset if Arteta went 5 at the back either though. United look annoyingly dangerous at the moment.

Goon's team looks ace, hope we see some impact subs too (Nelson/Willock).

Arteta has done fairly well against "The Big Six" so I'm hopeful for a result. Going to be pissed if we see Xhaka ahead of Partey....though I worry about Xhaka's recovery pace vs their front line.

Mustafi is a better CB than playing with ten or playing Xhaka in a two-man defence, but then again I'm not sure if you're exaggerating or serious. There isn't much between him and Holding, except for the fact that he's just coming back from an injury.

Holding is so much more intelligent on the pitch than Mustafi its not even funny. He might not be twice the player individually, but the fact he makes less mistakes is enough for me.

We do need to really test this midfield. Against Leicester, Ceballos and Xhaka had specific instructions to backfill for the fullbacks who were pushing very high up the field. And the centre backs were distributing the ball wide or high & wide. However, in the Dundalk game, Ceballos kept dropping deep even when we had territory.

We need to find a combination that gets us forward. Not sure what it is yet. Is that 3rd midfielder Willian or even Willock. We do not necessarily need to field our best 3 midfielders together. We need balance and the ability to transition quickly to offence and defense quickly.

I think Xhaka needs a more central starting position to be effective progressing the ball. Wan Bissaka could do a job on Auba, which worries me. I'd put Xhaka in the middle and have him drop between the CBs, and push Partey and Ceballos up higher to break up counters and take the ball on the turn.

That or let Xhaka drop into left back and make Gabriel the distributor.

If we play 4231, which I'd like to see, I'd play Willock at 10 and drop either Xhaka or Ceballos. Tough call, though.

Ceb, Xhak, Part don't break enough as a 3 into the final third so I'd take Saka as the add on to Partey + 1.
