Nelson has come on physically. Doesn’t yet have that burst to elevate him.

He’s improving but he seems quite a confused player in my opinion. Appears to want to be Grealish/Hleb like now

Willock MOTM? Thought Nelson looked good as well.

Interesting that Arteta hasn't changed our basic shape despite the lack of CBs, or perhaps because of it? Thought we could have done so v Dundalk from the off or at least once their lack of threat was established.

I think the narrower WFs is a compromise/means to provide numbers in the middle to close the gap to midfield without the change from the basic shape, although I'd like one of them to be a more creative passing option.

Did a neat turn about 40 yards from his goal as well to evade one of their players trying to close him down which I enjoyed a lot.

Anything to get us playing more confidently through the center. Let Partey and Ceballos receive in tight spaces, and Willock to make runs off ball while helping defensively.

I think we are still more likely to see a 4231 / 4141 whilst Arteta doesn't trust the defensive options (not just the CBs) in a back4.
I also like the idea of a 4222 with movement both inwards and outwards by the front4.

Looks like he was being frozen out in the past over the contract situation. Always find that an odd stance to take.

I wasn't able to watch the match, but I've watched the highlights and read through the thread. It's great that Willock impressed and I'm very pleased that Nelson seems to have changed to a more aggressive attitude, and is showing his quality as a result. There is such a great player in there.
