I understand the desire to not panic, but to me the klaxons are sounding. We are anchored in midtable if we continue to play like this, and in all of the process so far, there hasn't been a hint that we can create chances with consistency

This last 10 minutes has happened 5-10 times as well. Not creating any danger when we have to go for it. Patterns are emerging and we can't bury our heads in the sand about it

Where we bury our heads is entirely irrelevant to how Arsenal perform. Leicester had two shots on target. They won. If we do that, half this forum goes ballistic and seem mostly annoyed we won.

Disappointing.
Ugly 2nd half.
Team started out so well with moving forward in the 1st half.
What happened at half time? Thought the team would come out blazing to start the 2nd.
Laca is a hindrance.  Let him go in January.
Auba play center.
Arteta showing he needs to grow up fast if this team is going anywhere.
There is a decent nucleus of players to work with.
Meh....

Terrible performance.

I can’t stand Lacazette. We have no explosiveness or attacking verve.

FT. Toothless second half. First half was at least half-decent.

This loss is 100% on Arteta. Wrong selection and subs. The team structure on offense is dreadful

Putting on Mustafi when we pushed the line up had more to do with it I reckon. His stubby little legs are so fucking infuriating. It's like watching a dwarf trying to outrun a normal-sized human in every sprint duel. Vardy got goalside of him 5 or 6 times, and he was only on for half an hour. I get that it wasn't a substitution we made willingly, but for chrissake put Saliba on the bench instead of that horror show.

These petulant reactions to losing a game of football, or worse, not totally dominating a game of football, are shameful and stupid. I'm all for discussion and analysis, but these are just the ravings of entitled children. Some of y'all need to check yourselves.

Just look at Vardy run. He's unbelievable! Wish Auba wasn't in such poor form.

What are the reactions that you don't think are appropriate? The ones I can see are:

  • Arteta is too defensive
  • We lack creativity
  • We don't play with intensity or courage and are too safe with the ball
  • We have isolated players seemingly no good reason

What of the above is petulant?

after that first half that was an unbelievably poor 2nd. That's like Citeh all over again.

Arteta set the team out well first half and we had plenty of chances but finished poorly.

2nd half the Luiz injury notwithstanding, he failed to address Dani's poor performance in midfield and respond to the introduction of Vardy.

Really disappointing this after the first half gave us more chances than we'd ever started with this season other than Fulham.

Our passing is far too slow, always taking a touch and positioning ourselves first. No first time flicks, no dangerous pass and always back to the player with tons of space.

Xhaka with his rigidity and lack of right foot is a massive, massive factor. Can't wait till he leaves.

Disappointing. The first half was so good and encouraging. I really wish the manager had leaned in at half time and taken off Lacazette or another one of the weaker players. Instead he remained conservative as usual and we failed to impose ourselves.

Look, Arteta is a brand new manager. It’s not like he’s managing Messi and Xavi, so I’m not surprised it doesn’t look like fireworks. And that’s also why I expected 6th this season. This sort of performance is aligned with those expectations. On to the next one.

Slow progression of the ball. Ours players were hugging the wings too much. 0 creativity or urgency. We looked our most attractive when our defenders spread the ball...

Such an enigmatic performance.

We were about to go all out attack by bringing on AMN to win the game for us just before Vardy scored.

Leicester started the game without Perriera, Soyuncu, Ndidi and Vardy. Arguably four of their best players which is why they played the way they played. With a full strength team they would not have been as cautious as they were tonight. Whereas with us being cautious to the point of almost being afraid to attack seems to be our default formula.

I'm still for team arteta but this was the closest Emery performance I've seen.

Just way too ultra-cautious and end up losing anyway.

After 5 years I really fail to see why Mustafi is given a game. He's done that about 50 times already in his career here. Put a youngster on the bench and at worst he'll cost us the game which is what Mustafi is consistently good at.

Gabriel had another good game.

We need some creative solutions both in the front 3 and the midfield 3.

Lacazette is done.
We have zero decent chance creators in midfield.
And as long as Pepe doesn't play or doesn't have the trust of the manager we need an actual consistent traditional winger. Cengiz Under did what if we had a traditional winger could have.

Auba's 3 year deal is wasted if he's going to be played on the wing.

I don't disagree, there's plenty to criticise today. We should under no circumstances be so reliant on a centre back to circulate the ball in a meaningful manner and playing Auba on the right and Saka/Pepe on the left, when we badly need someone wide to provide creativity and direct threat is bewildering. However as Coombs said there's barely any discussion it's just moaning half the time, sell X or Y is a coward

The emotion is understandable during such a shit game but it's just as annoying to read as to watch the shit on display

I actually thought Xhaka was quite good. Auba and Laca were the major problems, and I think it's basically down to failing to make something of that 1st half and losing steam as the 2nd wore on. Brenton played a shit game with loads of fouls, rode his luck and then typed in the cheat code (Vardy) to steal it.

And then you factor his shit passing. Fucking infuriating.

This league table is wide open. This season is up for us to make it into the top 4 and instead we're sputtering when we come up against anyone decent. That's Liverpool, City and Leicester we lost points to

Good point. Arteta deserves a lot of shit for that decision

This seems way more exaggerated than the 'petulant' reactions you claim to see here.

For one it's comparing the expectations of Arsenal fans vs Leicester fans.

Secondly, that's exactly the Leciester game plan anyway unless you are completely blind. Soak up the pressure and hit them on the break.

And I don't believe for a minute that will resemble the mood if we get a victory like that at the King Power.
