Bissouma is now heavily linked with Liverpool as a potential replacement for Wijnaldum.

Wijnaldum has still not signed extension to his contract which expires at the end of the season and is free to negotiate with any club in January.

We are now linked with Basekshahir midfielder Berkay Ozcan who has had decent performances in the champions league this season.

Ozcan typically plays as a box to box midfielder.

Some tenuous links again with 18 year old Michael Olise. We apparently had a deadline day bid rejected this summer.

Olise has been having a great season for promotion chasing Reading.

A left footed attacking midfielder who can play wide or as a number 10.

If they throw in Kahveci, why not? Kahveci was ridiculous against RB Leipzig in the Champions League this week

Don't know anything about Ozcan and Elise. Aouar is brilliant. The rest are not that interesting.

Two of Aouar, Szoboszlai and Buendía.

Olise would be a good option if the price is decent. He has the ability to blow past people in the middle of the park, and in theory, should only get quicker and stronger.

In Arteta's Arsenal you'd have to put him in Willian's place on the right flank I think, which is like going from -10 to +100.

Play him on the left, it's where Arteta has tried to get him to work recently. Or just put him on the bench. Or play Buendia as the playmaker; it would be my preferred choice, but I don't think that role really exists in any of our systems.

I'm greedy = I want all of Aouar, Buendia, Bissouma and Olise.

Aouar becasue he plays CM and he can create space by turning his man just like Santi, and then he has the time and ability to play the defence splitting pass IF the forwards are moving.
Buendia and Bissouma because they are already PL adapted & also play in key areas - Buendia to provide assists in the final 3rd and is not affraid to take on defenders to create the space, and Bissouma to play a similar role to Hojbjerg as the base of midfield and let Partey off the leash.
Olise because he is another dynamic player who will increase in value.

Unfortunately I do not think we will get Szoboszlai if the reports about his release clause criteria are correct.

How the hell did Hojbjerg become a reference point for holding midfielders? 😆

It's particularly annoying because I used to get funny looks whenever I said I thought he was a good player at Southampton. But that's all he is: a good player. Not a jot more. And there are other solid plodders all around that can do what he does.
