Fair enough Jazz. I know several women who've been abused or assaulted by partners, family members, strangers or people with a duty of care. None of them ever had any success with the cops or in court, even in those cases where the cops were actually supportive.
The law's an ass. Often the courtroom's standards of proof cannot be met even when it's known to a certainty what occurred. Or jurisdiction, some technicality like the extraterritorial clause affecting one of the complainants against Thomas Partey is the obstacle. That was the case for one woman I know. If legal process was reliable, at least one of the survivors I know would have gotten a scrap of justice.
I see it as untenable to demand the law is where this stuff begins and ends. That's not how things work.
I'm going to stand down now, as I just wanted to articulate something, rather than antagonise you or deny the case you mention where a friend was falsely accused. But I'll probably bring Partey's case up again at some point, as it shouldn't be swept under the rug even if OMITT doesn't dwell on it season long.
