if the victim was your sister, or your best friend, or a coworker, or even someone you casually knew, you likely wouldnt require a 100 page dossier with footnotes, timestamps, and every minor detail. you would be appalled, and you'd be calling for partey's head on a stick. in this case, you dont know her, and your interest is in seeing a football club you have no stake in, other than an emotional stake, prosper. so you need to wait for that 100 page dossier before you can decide.
any rational person would read what is out there and want absolutely nothing to do with partey, and would find the club's actions deplorable. the club may not be able to terminate his contract at this juncture, but they also can determine when he trains, when he plays, etc. they were fine exiling the club captain when he arrived back late from seeing his sick mother. they were fine banishing one of our best young prospects to the shadow realm when they couldnt sort out his loan. they could have easily told partey not to be around the team, to wait at home until a resolution was found. they could continue paying his salary so they dont run into legal issues by trying to withhold pay. instead, they are whistling past the graveyard, hoping this all just goes away.
sexual abuse victims get the short end of the stick every single day from the "justice system"....this woman has likely been receiving death threats and all kinds of abuse for going public. she didnt do this to further her career or make money or anything else. she did it because she was abused and shes trying to help other women feel more empowered to speak up, and hopefully wake other women up so the same thing doesnt happen to them. almost nothing good can possibly come out of this for her personally, she took a huge risk, and instead of looking for legal technicalities to discredit her or try to absolve partey, she should be commended. "presumed innocent until found guilty" is a courtroom edict that a jury/judge is supposed to follow. innocent until proven guilty doesnt have the same impact in the court of public opinion. lots of scumbags get out of trouble on technicalities, it doesnt make them "innocent", it means a legal venue couldn't find them legally guilty. big difference.
fuck partey, fuck anyone who is actually defending him at this point or trying to both sides the issue, and fuck arsenal for the way they've handled this. its absolutely disgusting.
