I reckon Partey was always happening, Aouar was just a potential bonus with leftovers. Probably why we never really went all that high with a bid. Convinced if we had better luck selling we'd have gotten both.

I think so too. Great that we've gotten Partey, but it would've been so sweet if we could sell just one or two more players to pull that off.
