Not sure I want him going back there unless he's insisting. Need him to have a proper challenge.

Good, Saliba won't learn shit playing for Fulham

What? This can't be real ? Savage.

Imagine if this is true πŸ˜†

If we're not getting anyone else in then fuck them. Torreira could learn from Partey, honestly.

We have suddenly become serious.

Looks like Romano gets his info from AS and Atletico directly. They are still unaware we want to activate his clause πŸ˜†

'At AtlΓ©tico they are not aware of this supposed new interest from Arsenal'

They also say, 'although there is no negotiation', Arsenal can turn up and take the player anyway, should they pay the clause.

The reason you keep the Partey option alive all summer is more likely to display to Aulas that you have alternative places to put your money. Especially as he had no alternative buyers. Aulas really fucked up. But I think we have the better deal for the immediate future, which is what is most important for Arteta. He cannot afford to fuck up. He needs to do well for Arsenal and himself.

Partey agent knew we would be activating the clause way before any scoop appeared hence that hourglass tweet. I think this was always in the plans for a last min move regardless other deals are alive or dead. This way we won't be fleeced like United style.

Let's celebrate the signing but I still think we need one more attacking midfielder at least. Eriksen on loan would be brilliant πŸ˜† Partey himself won't be enough

He does make such a difference though. Ceballos having someone who can  run off him and pass at speed just pushes us a few notches higher. You look around and we can try the 4231 and things make sense. We can even have Ceballos up in the Willian role operating in tight spaces if we want. Guy is an immediate game changer.
I'm overjoyed. Aubameyang, Pepe, Partey, even Neny - real African energy!

Well... they do have 50m euros just sitting in their bank account. They can afford to get serious. Player wants to go. It's a tough stance... clock is ticking.

Hilarious but looks completely made up as well.

Aw shucks, you guys know how to make a fella feel welcome. πŸ™‚

Partey and Ricky in the same day? What a deadline day 2020 going to be hard to top.

Gunnersaurus is let go and suddenly Ricky has time to post again? Hm.

I'd tell you some stories, but the NDA I signed has pocketed me a fortune! Raul also tipped me very well for carrying those very heavy duffle bags to his Mercedes the day he left. So don't feel bad for ol' Gunnersaurus!

Oh please, please be true!

If we end up getting no one else other than Partey, I really hope we can fuck Ozil off too. It will be the best deadline day ever. It bothers me that he will be at this club the whole season pocketing a lot of money while sitting on his ass.

I don't actually think we gain much from holding Torreira back.

First, I would trust Simeone/Atletico more than Arteta/Arsenal to highlight Torreira's value. He won't be getting game time here, and we'll be looking to move him again next summer with little interest.

Second, if we punk Atletitco by signing Partey on the last day, and then pull out of a transfer, it will look mean spirited. That certainly won't help our negotiations in the future or other clubs' desire to work with us.

Both points important. Particularly the second one.

Shirts out there....
Torreira 11, Sokratis 5, Saliba 4.
Wonder if we hold onto Saliba's shirt if he goes away for the year.

That whole thing is a windup anyway. As fun as it sounds there's no way clubs do that in reality, and honestly we need Torreira off the books as much as Atletico need him there.

This business is brutal, and Arsenal owe Atletico nothing. They certainly didn't care that they had a player in Partey that was clearly very keen to join another club and take on a new challenge. Liverpool fans I bet couldn't care less that they have been ruthless in all their dealingd for the past 5 years. The margins between where Liverpool are (well, were, prior to the club being disssolved at the final whistle yesterday! Ha ha ha!) and where we have found ourselves for years now are paper thin.

In summary: if they want Torreira, they can pay for him. I'm not even much if a fan of his, but he's a damn sight more useful than a certain Egyptian that is currebtly getting Premier League starts for us.

At the same time, At. Madrid did get in Torreira's ear about moving to Madrid and low balled us with a loan, otherwise we'd have packed him off to Italy for Β£20m. I agree that pulling out of the deal crosses into bad faith territory but fuck At. Madrid anyway, they're as miserable off the pitch as they are on it. We can meet halfway with a decent loan fee or something but we absolutely should use some leverage now.

Good to see Theo back at Southampton. Hope he can have a decent season there under a good manager.

They can't, they have no say. We didn't even bother to communicate with Atleti on Partey, we communicating directly with La Liga

Looks like we are determined to sour relationships πŸ˜†

'No negotiating - Arsenal have to meet 50m euro buyout for Partey'

Guillem Balague

Spanish football journalist

There is no deal to be done with Atletico Madrid (for Thomas Partey) because Atletico will not negotiate at all.

That means what Arsenal have to do is go to La Liga and say they are willing to meet his buyout clause.

So no negotiating is taking place, Arsenal just have to take that last step.

It has been reported in Spain they they are willing to pay the 50 million euros of his buyout clause, so we will have to see.

Right.. always weary after what happened with Suarez, sounds like a different situation though

πŸ˜†

They refused to take our calls about Partey all summer, they can't whinge about not getting one now.

That Ballbag logo πŸ˜† ffs

We’ve got brutes in the team now. Gonna bully a few teams this season.

Maybe if they were willing to negotiate we could have had a win win outcome. Tough.

Poor ballbag, ever since Emery has gone he has no exclusives on Arsenal at all. Used to be the number 1 reliable man under Emery era.

Looks like Dembele to United is on ffs. Out of training now.

Would have prefered Auoar, but I guess Partey is a decent signing as well.

I delight in this notion but I'd think I'd do it the same way if I meant well. If they've been so obstinate, I'd cover my bases with the regulatory authority before approaching them in their perceived position of power.

Plus I don't see H. Herrera has been sold yet - not sure Torriera deal is official?

Edit: oops previous page. Sorry.
