I think they're a holdover of that era that Arsenal are a soft touch. They're commentating on the game with that bias.

Commenator mentioned that Mason hasn't showed anyone a red card in his last 25 games. He's probably protecting his record at this point. You just know it's one of those things referees talk about. "Lee is a great example, never too reactive with the cards."
