Looked a tad like Henry when he says 'I want to leave a legacy'
Really impressed by Auba's vision for how to see out his career. I think he has a far better chance of being a legend here than anywhere else. If we win a league or CL over the next 3 years it will be largely due to him. Can't imagine where this club would be if he left last January.
Indeed, the legacy matters too I think - the next generation of Arsenal fans will hear about Auba's exploits and know that he's associated with Arsenal like Wrighty is today. Probably just me being bitter but I've always wondered whether squandering his Arsenal legacy was worth it for van Persie in return for exactly 1 medal.
I think Van Persie knows it was not worth it.
He was fucking adored here, and left to be “moderately appreciated” by united fans. They have never shown him the love that he once got at Arsenal.
For what, a league medal?
Depends of course on your attitude, and of course you play to win. Playing for a club you have a great relationship with, and the fans adoring you is something that you can’t find everywhere.
If Arsenal push the boat out this window, and then next summer, I think then we could be a team that can look at the top of the league again finally.
