Hard to make much out of one game where most players weren't match fit due to having virtually no preseason and then playing a round of national team games just days before the season started.

Great result, but the team looked rusty. Not convinced we're much better than last year. Hopefully a few new players and a few more matches will improve things. Fulham looked awful.

Only saw the first half and second half from the 70th minute on, but this was good fun. Like the good old days, when Arsenal wasn't shit.

Lacazette really should have done better with that Auba cross. Willian was unlucky not to score from that free-kick. To be able to bring on Ceballos and Pepe in the end must have really felt good for Arteta. We've got some options in the squad these days with Xhaka and even Elneny playing decent enough football, not to mention all the youngsters and new signings. Wasn't expecting to see Gabriel so early, but one miscommunication aside, he was really positive. So strong and controlled in the tackle, pretty fast for a big guy and wins a lot of headers- what's not to like?

Hopefully we can have a proper good season of Arsenal football again.

Yes exactly, my point being the fallacy of judging players based on who they are linked to. We've been watching Bellerin play for Arsenal, we can see his level based on his performances. Personally I didn't see anything today or from his previous appearances to suggest he is anywhere near the player he was pre vegan diet / injuries. Defensively poor 1v1 and offensively hit and miss, didn't really get tested today.

AMN is too conservative when played on the left. Bellerin has been very good at the end of last season and today, but it's lazy to say that AMN is overrated and Bellerin is underrated when 1) AMN is playing on the wrong side, don't think Bellerin would've done a better job on the left and 2) the reason some wanted to get rid of Bellerin if one of those two had to leave isn't necessarily about his quality, but that he's so often injured. That doesn't have anything to do with over/underrating.

They’re both about the same level, both have different things going for them. I’ve said all along that I don’t really mind which one of them goes, but if we had to sell to raise funds I would sell one of them. In games like today I would have played Saka on the left personally.
