Rightly or wrongly sacrificed his prime to get the best out of Ronaldo. Could have had crazy career numbers himself.

Yeah, I agree, don't even know why I said it. May be because some players wouldn't. He had no ego, improvised his game, won everything that was there to be won in club football. Deserves a lot of credit for being an enabler for Ronaldo to do his thing.

Even through all those years, you could still see his exquisite technical quality. He does all the facilitation stuff that Lacazette allegedly does for us with incredible ease.

I don't rate Deschamps as a manager one bit, but the one thing I do respect about him is that he hasn't brought Benzema back even though it would give him the best expected results. There shouldn't be a higher threshold for the shit Benz did just because he's an excellent striker.

Laca just doesn't have the technique required for the role. He has tenacity and intelligence though which in part makes up for it.

He really makes it look so easy. It has been a privilege watching him these past few years. The only reason I watch any team other than Arsenal on a regular basis.

Wish I could have watched him live a few more times and in more important matches than friendlies and La Liga walkovers.

For those keeping record, big debate in the Barca - Valladolid game where it appears Barca committed a handball offense that won’t result in a Valladolid penalty. Ball was struck from close range, but is the type that is often given. Referee didn’t even go take a look.
