From a cash flow standpoint, you’re only due the first tranche of the loan repayment this year. The bank rate is 0,1%. Lyon get paid in full up front this year. I think we need to take some risks and be proactive to fix that midfield.

If we're going to do it then go big and do it properly = don't just do it for one signing if it means you still can't get the rest of what is needed to be done.

After his recent performances (if our interest is legit) we can offer as much as we like and there is a good chance he won't join. Depends on what other clubs get involved.

We are revisiting the finances of the decade 2004-2014, and in particular the period when AW says he did his best work for the club (but not necessarily the football team).

Thats now how we should act , we go to Aouar and sell him Artetas vision for the club and let him know he is wanted as part of a team with big ambitions. We should not come across as a team going for players that other bigger clubs don't want . Who the fuck are City anyway , all those millions and the "best coach in the world " and can't get past the QF . We go for players hard , not half measures or waiting for others to make their move. How did Spuds get Ndombele ? Remember when people said bigger clubs will move for him?

Yeah, but it’s not and either or situation.

Partey will finally give us some real bite, physicality and mobility in midfield. He is able to resist being pressed, which for us would be huge.

Aouar is a completely different player. His passing and vision should in theory help us go around the press as well, but what they offer are two separate things.

We absolutely need what Partey brings, although in theory there should be more players out there like him than Aouar types.

Doesn't need to be either or.. get both , show some intent . We are never going to be seen as a serious club by good players unless we demonstrate some sort of ambition. Go get one first and then go hard for the other , show that you're serious. Otherwise we will just end up with nothing and struggle through another season and end up 5th or 6th.

Aouar and Partey are entirely complementary. Would demonstrate some real intentionality behind our squad building to make serious moves for these two.

Ceballos would have some competition as well, if he stuck around, and I think that's something he'd respond to. Xhaka as well, honestly.

Joe, ESR, even Saka, and whoever else is ready from the academy, even AMN or Torreira if they aren't sold...

is a really balanced, very modern, very exciting midfield.

if the choice is between partey and aouar (since both isn't realistic), i'd go with aouar and sign a cheaper CM like sangare.
