I think it's hilarious that goalkeepers are the molehill that Guardiola is seemingly willing to die on. How many times does Ederson touch the ball in your average game? How many of those touches are passes of considerable skill that your average one-legged centreback wouldn't be able to ping a few yards?
The idea that he adds something invaluable through being slightly better with his feet than a proper goalkeeper who's a level above him at keeping the ball out of the net is so hard to comprehend. He costs them far more in the long run by never being able to swing the margins in their favour. Both goals were going between his legs today, just like the second one Auba put past him when we played them in the FA Cup semi. There was a time when you would have gotten beaten up in the dressing room for that kind of promiscuity.
