You can see how over-reliant Liverpool are on Mané in a game like this by the way. They've geared their entire game towards putting him in positions where he can take opponents on, one v one. They have no attack without him. It feels weird to even say it after they just played a 99 point season, but I don't think it has been good for their football on the actual pitch.

They are highly dependent on their front 3. A lot of their goals bypass the midfield and long balls directly to the attackers, who either take on their man or wait for overlaps. Its simple but very effective.

This - rewatch last weeks game or the match against Chelsea. People were shitting on Bellerin but Mane is a force of nature. Plays 3 different positions with 100% intensity.

When your system is too finely tuned. I think that’s what is happening here. If you take out TAA, I think you see similar failures.

I think there's a danger of oversimplifying things, it's true Liverpool can beaten but also

1) they were at anfield
2) better teams than us have also struggled to break them down
3) 2 of their top 5 best players aren't playing today

Unless you think Aston Villa have now figured Liverpool out and they'll continue to bleed points all season.

Lacazette scores his chance and you never know. Liverpool were way better than us on the day but we gave ourselves a chance to come out of Anfield with a result. It didn't work out unfortunately but that happens.

Leeds lost. I'm referring to you saying they gave Liverpool more of a game than Aston Villa have done so far.
