The club have been signaling it to be fair, that we were in fact going for 2 mids. I've been saying we need 2 mids and a CB since the beginning, that's what Arteta clearly wants, and if we don't get it, we are basically saying that we are going to play 5 atb and back Aubameyang to get us the goals we need to win the EL. That's our only reasonable target in the current situation.
Anyone who thinks Arteta should bear any sort of expectation to challenge for the top four is kidding themselves. We're going to come somewhere between 8th and 5th depending on whether the teams around us (Wolves, Everton, et al.) perform to their best or not.
