Think it's just Liverpool's cycle coming to an end while City have a bit more juice left in theirs but not enough to really peak, and there is also a general improved quality across the board in the league after years of heavy investment which makes points tougher to come by.
If we weren't so bad it would have been an enjoyable season in some ways. I prefer this to how things normally shake out. Premier League has traditionally been pretty awful with everyone below the top 5 teams or so effectively being considered the bottom part of the table.
