I haven't seen much of Villa this season, nor much football outside of Arsenal actually, but I did watch Wolves-Villa the other day, and despite the clean sheet, Martinez had a couple of dodgy moments where he spilled the ball like an amateur. I think it was because he tried to catch the shots rather than punch.
That said, I do really rate his ability with the ball at his feet and even more so, as you mentioned, the command he has when the ball comes into his box. I am quite sad we sold him. I like Leno, and in many ways he's the superior goalkeeper, but Martinez just felt right to me.
