One would need a cost/ impact analysis
What do you think the impact is of a "traditional" CF, versus a goal scoring winger? I think we get more bang for our buck with the winger. Most (myself included) deride Laca's goal scoring record while he was here, but for a quick minute he also made a cumulative positive difference to our attack, but didn't have the legs to sustain it. Jesus can be seen as an upgrade of Laca - he dribbles better, has much better stamina and pace, and his defensive work rate is second to none. But in my view, Laca was the template.
I guess my point is, unless Vlahovic/Abraham are going to provide most of the Jesus' positive attributes, as well as improved finishing then there's little to no value added. Plus we would have to adjust our game to adapt to a new style/presence upfront right in the middle of the season, and only for certain scenarios when they are needed?
Eddie struggles these days because he doesn't quite have the skillset Jesus has, and also has lost his edge in front of goal. A tricky/ quality wing forward on the other hand gives us a like for like replacement for when Saka or Martinelli goes down, which could (will) be extremely disruptive to our set up. Even if they don't necessarily replicate the numbers of the first choice guys, the pressure they ought to put on the opposition defense opens up space for others in our midfield and attack. Nelson had an incredible game last time out, but Forest are rock bottom of the league for a good reason despite their heroics against a flailing Liverpool. I won't go captaining him in my fantasy team next week, and expect to look like a genius at the end of the match week. More likely that was a statistical anomaly of a performance. Hope to see more of him, and I'd be happy to be proven wrong.
TL, DR : Winger > CF imo.
