What's the story on Celtic having so many Japanese players all of a sudden? Some kind of partnership, or just way ahead on Asian scouting? Hatate and Furuhashi both look fantastic, and they just brought in Ideguchi and Maeda too.
Well Ange managed there, that would explain the January signings.
Nakamura is a bit of a legend there too so they've a bit of history with Japanese players too.
Yeah that's correct. Ange worked magic in Japan, winning the league in just his first season there playing some swashbuckling football.
The job he is doing at Celtic is incredible too. When he arrived, he was given almost no money to work with and Celtic sold more than 10 players. He managed to settle the squad down, made some astute bargain signings from everywhere around the world and promoted the youth players previous Celtic manager wanted to discard. End up all of them settled, he got them playing that same swashbuckling football in no time and in January added another 3 Japanese players that he knew from the Jleague. He had inside knowledge after spending 2 years there, although only Maeda played for him.
His style of football is really great to watch. Tore Rangers apart the other day and today won big at a tricky away game at Motherwell.
Hatate is a serious find though. So natural in everything he does.
