He's been as good as since he took over which is the highest compliment I can think of. People forget that Leno has played like this nonstop for two seasons though. That consistency is arguably much harder to achieve than a good run of form, and it has to count for something. It's still on Martinez to prove that this is his normal level and not just his absolute peak.
