Disaster yes but 8-2 is something else...
The squad we travelled with that day was something else.

We went there with a bunch of kids and academy players who had never been included in the first team squad before because we had a ridiculous amount of injuries and had just sold off Cesc and Nasri. We all knew it would be a disaster. But as with so many other games over the years, it's just the margin that we get walloped by that is so humiliating. Why can't we be like every other mid table team and just take a 2-0 beating and go home. Why do we always have to be humiliated like part-timers?

Problem being with AW that his tactical strategy was based upon player intuition which is basically linked to confidence & momentum. Which is why any time we fell off the rails it would always take us an age to regather our form, and why we were always 'on' to concede a handful against teams that were almost single minded/ruthless in their application.

Eddie is still suspended for this right?
I'd go with:
Martinez
Holding - Luiz - Tierney
Maitland-Niles - Ceballos - Xhaka - Saka
Nelson - Lacazette - Aubameyang
Agreed. Don't want to see Pepe, Mustafi, Bellerin, Guendouzi or Kolasinac anywhere near our starting line up.
Agreed.
that time in the league cup semi final when Mustafi feigned a foul and stopped playing while Aguero broke off the shoulder for a 1v1. If he plays today he needs to pay that back.

*final
Btw the last time we lost a domestic semi-final was two decades ago ? (jinx)
Game is today (saturday). Just wanted to point out that

LOL, I was thinking the same thing. Someone is asleep at the keyboard..
Martinez; Mustafi, Luiz, Tierney; Bellerin, Ceballos, Xhaka, Maitland-Niles; Pepe, Lacazette, Aubameyang
AMN in the middle all of a sudden. No Saka again.
I don’t think he’s in the middle, LWB more likely.
Ooh the excitement is building. Nearly on page 3!
Reasonable lineup. Think the right flank looks like a potential problem area but we shall see. Bellerin owes us a performance.
Mustafi is going to be sat on his bum so many times today. Sigh
Who's that Smith on the bench? City with basically one striker in the whole matchday squad.

I just hope it is 4-3-3 with Xhaka and AMN being CDM's. Otherwise I am affraid the end game stats will resemble those against Pool, but with more likely outcome, instead of a fluke win.
Can one of the mods please fix this on the title page? Thanks.

True...you are probably right.
Yep no chance he's in the middle, unfortunately. Don't think a two man midfield is the way to go today.
Please just give us a respectable performance. These 3-0 beatings are geting tiresome.
2-1 to us.
