To be honest, I have seen this being said a lot.
While he can make mistakes, he is a bloody mountain of a man who directs attacks around him.
Even in his “worst” game against PSG, Mbappe and Neymar still had to think when they saw him. If I recall correctly, Neymar never beat him in a one on one situation, and Mbappe got down the side of him once. This was despite Leipzig’s defence in general trying to throw the game away.
A defender who drains the confidence of attackers, are extremely rare, and I think he could reach that bracket. His next move will be vital, as he still needs to learn.
Next year there will be an almighty scramble for him (Konate as well), and I would love it if we were involved.
Forget United, the main team is Chelsea. Silva is a stop gap, and they undoubtedly need new cb’s. They are just waiting to pounce.
