Talk of a Guendouzi-Coutinho swap.
I'd rather just have the cash.

Done with this club if they go through with this nonsense.
Fuck right off with this.
Suggestion is Guendouzi + cash for Coutinho.
Lmao, fuck off
To be fair we may need an Ozil replacement this summer, I don’t see anyone else in the squad who could burden us in the same way.
Coutinho is still a great player
Not worth 140m mind
That would be such a great deal for Barca.
Coutinho is a good player
No way. I would rather sell Douzi outright and look for a way to sign Szoboszlai. Swap Toreira for Coutinho.

Yea, hes never been that kind of player. Lacks pace and looks best in space. Nobody at Liverpool could belive thr offer barca made.
I would rather keep the current team than see Coutinho walk through the door. Fuck that shit
Coutinho would only really work in a “free role” off the wing, which in turn would sacrifice the shape.
Playing at the head of a midfield three, basically means you are playing with two midfielders
I like him, but getting in defenders, plus partey and another like Szoboszlai is much more important.
Coutinho’s wages would also be astronomical
I would only take him on a subsidized loan. Nothing else.
What role would Coutinho have played in tonight’s victory?
He's small and useless so could probaby have replaced Silva convincingly in the City side tonight.

Who do you hate more? Silva or van Persie?

I'd rather play saka or gabi out wide. I'm really not a fan of small slow wingers. Look how rubbish sanchez and arshavin were when they lost some pace.
Pretty weak links thankfully
If we're using guendo has a bargaining chi i can think of a few better ways to do it

We played the way we did because we basically surrendered and admitted to being the inferior team. With more technically adept players our game plan changes. Our formation and tactics change.
Not a fair question.

I wouldn't call it surrendering = I think that's a symptom/reaction from the AW ideology.
I also don't think we put together an 18 pass move for the opening goal if we 'surrender' or lack technique.
Agreed things are likely to change if we can upgrade - particularly the spine.
Arteta outcoached Pep. Very few managers have had the tools to overwhelm Pep in a straight duel. It’s typically another galactico team like Real Madrid with peak Cristiano when they did him 4-0. So you need to work around his glittering array of talent. We had 4 shots on target to their 1. And although they had territory, they did not assail our six yard box as they often do against other teams. He neutered them, cutting out all their incisive through balls around the 18 yard box. After the first 12 minutes, we managed them
So, why is it when Mourinho does it it’s parking the bus, and when Arteta does it, it’s out coaching Pep?
flobaba wrote:So, why is it when Mourinho does it it’s parking the bus, and when Arteta does it, it’s out coaching Pep?
... because Mourinho has almost always had the assets to build the best squads in the world. In team sports you typically lead with defense when you have the inferior offensive assets. Mourinho has coached the likes of Droogba, Robben, Eto'o, Cristiano, Hazard, etc in his career. He should typically be leading with offense - which he started his career doing and then just abandoned
Jose does it against every team, even those of similar or lesser calibre. From what I've seen arteta does it against clearly superior opponents, but its admittedly a small sample size
flobaba wrote:So, why is it when Mourinho does it it’s parking the bus, and when Arteta does it, it’s out coaching Pep?
Except that 18 pass move for goal would not happen if it was a genuine park the bus strategy = it would be far more direct & less than a handful of passes.
I see that Flobaba is on his usual negativity spree in every recent thread.
Imagine playing devil's advocate for Mourinho. It's not 2005 anymore.
Maybe Flobaba is Mourinho. I don’t recall him posting during the Spurs game
:-)

The devil's advocacy for Mourinho was still going strong until at least 2013 or 2014 from what I recall.

We had folks arguing for him to manage us recently. Some of these cats are on a retainer
Arteta has been quite pointed in recent press conferences about wanting players who want to play for us. Hopefully these wins give him even greater influence over transfer decisions. If Coutinho wants to come and work hard and buy into Arteta's vision and ethos then that's great - if Arteta thinks he will fit into the team.
And hopefully is Arteta doesn't think Coutinho is a good fit he has the influence to say no thanks.

Talking about being on the payroll, you were one of his biggest boosters back in the day! At least he was winning a ton of silverware back then.
Thought it was pretty hilarious the amount of success that was predicted for him at rustbucket United.
Kia is just shoping him around, nobody wants him, wonder why.
EDIT:
A loan move to a Premier League team is on the cards this summer for Philippe Coutinho. [@gerardromero]
This guy works for esportsrac1 and is tier 1 for Barca news.
Arsenal are one of the teams who have shown the most interest in signing Coutinho. However, the Brazilian midfielder's wages are a major obstacle for the Gunners. Coutinho has made it clear that he wants to return to the Premier League but he has told his agent to put any talks on hold until he concludes his loan spell at Bayern. [@mundodeportivo]
Coutinho initially rejected Arsenal because it meant taking a pay cut important because Arsenal are not ready to pay his salary in full. Coutinho said 'no', but a few days ago he asked Arsenal for an extension to make a decision. It keeps the door open.
Arteta loves Coutinho and the London club has taken the necessary steps. Though, Leicester and Tottenham have already qualified for Europe, they can now make a concrete move for Coutinho.
Now that the Premier League has finished, it should speed up any loan move for the Brazilian midfielder.
[@SPORT]
He will have a problem if he is looking for the same wages. In Qatar or China he can get that, not in europe, where is stock is at an all time low.
And some more on Coutinho:
[/twittter]
They must be cutting their coke with disinfectant at the Nou Camp. My God!
It's more like we should demand €50m for Guendouzi if we agree to take on the added burden that is Coutinho.
They need to own their mistakes and take a write-off on this bloke. Take a big bath along with all the other Covid-19 disruptions.
Does Coutinho do anything to help our creativity?
Always struck me more as a player focused on shooting, so we'd (possibly) get more goals out of our midfield, but I'm not sure we'd create more for our forwards due to him.

I agree.
Not really a player who picks apart defences, he can score alright, and when and the ball he loves a one-two, so his movement (for himself :lol can cause problems.
Overall not really what we need, so I would be spending every available penny on all other areas.
If he or Dembele then fall in our laps at the end of the window on a loan, then fine.
