If PEA leaves its an even worse signing. Willian doesn't offer much in terms of goals, never has.

The AFCBell guy reckons Partey is intent on joining us and that we're also confident it will happen. Talks supposedly on hold until Atletico finish the CL. #believe

I have to say if we can get Partey then I see no reason why Aouar is deemed unrealistic.

Back on Partey, I saw a stat that he's quite high on the errors leading to goal stat, is that a feature of his game for those who watch him regularly?

It could be a combination of two things. He is a relatively progressive passer, and Atletico play deep.
So it might recur at Arsenal if we are set up the way we are currently. If we are more expansive, it shouldn’t be a problem.

Yeah he's their deepest player and takes risks with his passing and dribbling as he's the main catalyst for their attacks when they break out

His tendency to dribble looking for that pass no matter if it is near his box when there were simpler options. I don't know the context of the game so it might be moot but when i saw the compilations the thought was: man if this goes wrong its bad.

The lump sum release clause seems to be the sticking point. We'd probably have to sell multiple pieces and get a substantial amount of those proceeds up front in order to pay the release. Perhaps there will be a bit of poker to see if atleti will settle for something under the release clause, but i dont see us having much leverage there

Probably more likely we pay over the release clause and that allows us to pay in installments, maybe with clauses built in. See Torreira.

I also don't fully buy the reports. If Atletico want Torreira, Douzi or Laca as has been reproted elsewhere, then I don't see why they wouldn't be open to a swap. I have a suspicion they just didn't want to get into it until the CL was done.
