How about we post links to full matches, or even extended highlights, of the games that make Arsenal by far the greatest team the world has ever seen? I saw this link posted on Arsenal Reddit:

Arsenal 7-0 Everton. I remember the thrill of watching live. A certain Dennis Bergkamp was planning to retire at the end of the season, he decided to play on one more year, but we fans went in to this game believing this would be his last ever home game for Arsenal; he put on a show for the ages.

I haven't watched the whole thing yet, but saw 5 minutes of the first half and the one and two-touch stuff was mesmerising. I'll probably watch the full match tomorrow.

Perhaps, if we get really bored, we can start match threads for classic matches (meal plans and the works!) and pick a kick-off time to watch through together?

It would be amazing to type "HENRYYYYYY!" just one more time or moan about Lehmann getting too pushy and grabby at corners or Gilberto misplacing a 5 yard pass! 😆

(Although there's literally nothing else to moan about from that era!)

Perhaps even go back a bit further to matches the vast majority of us have never seen? Provided we can find links to them. Just a thought.

The first 5-2 is definitely the game from the last decade I have the fondest memories of. The 'mind the gap' nonsense was in full force going into the game, the Spurs fans were right up for it, they even had Adebayor playing. With all that tension increased by our dreadful start I remember going absolutely mental when van Persie equalized and the rest of the match was just pure ecstasy. I haven't felt that way about a game of football since.

Is that Arteta in the tunnel against the invincibles for Everton 44 seconds in?

Sure is. Think it was his first season at Everton.

Bolton 2 - Arsenal 3

Throughly enjoyed the euphoria of this little away league game. Gained a trust in the team to persevere in the title race that I have hardly felt since.

Can't find a video of it but the match at Highbury against Middleborough after the invincibles season, cracking game with quality goals all round.

"Here they come again . . . IT'S REYEEEEEEES! Stand up for the Champions."

We were the fucking coolest. No one comes close.

Top 5 most classic matches in the last 2 decades for me in no particular order:

1)

2)

3) 5-3 Boro as posted above

4) Can't find the video but the semi final against Villarreal. Never once had a draw felt so good.

5)

These are probably the matches that really got my mood going for quite awhile, like the feeling is just amazing.

This was peak Henry - that first goal is so, so underrated.

That's the one, thanks mate!

I'm down with a tolly watch-along for classic games. Need to find a good source for the full matches though

We really play some brilliant football those days without winning things. Arshavin Rosicky Fabregas strutting stuffs behind RVP is brilliant.

Great compilation Clrnc. And good thread Ricky. Enjoying watching some of these matches again and revisiting what Arsenal standard football should look like. Somehow seeing Theo in that #14 has me slightly irritated. We should retire that jersey number once and for all.

Arsenal is on a roll posting all these classic matches. Criminal we let such a good lead slip in the title that year.

Arshavin is such an intelligent player, every attack goes through him those days. Fabregas long balls are immense and that Rosicky's outside of the foot pass at the start... wow

When Rosicky was on form, he was a great little player. Shame we never got the best from him.

Let’s go there:

Peak Fabregas vs peak Ozil? Who was better?

I’m team Cesc.

Remember that one like it was yesterday, lovely team with some real style. Rosicky's pass to start that was one of my favorites passes ever.

Wilshere with tucked in jersey too, sharp lad.

Watching Arsenal - Chelsea FA Cup final now. On TV
Thinking about how we always complain about refereeing. The Alexis Sanchez goal, Lol. He had a handball and Ramsey interfering with play from an offside position on the same play. And the referee still overruled the linesman to give the goal. It’s funny how we forget moments like this when decisions go against us.

You got it the wrong way round, those moments are the ones that are burned into memory because of how rare they were. Not sure if Alexis handled it but Ramsey was definitely offside, and I remember it vividly three years later. This season under Emery we had a run of like four or consecutive games where we had game defining calls wrongly go against us and I can't even tell you what one of them was.

I came here to post the Bolton 2-3 game but it was posted, watched all of them instead.
This was such a great game, as a teenager I used to love Fabregas so much. Is it strange that I remember everything I did in the day of certain games? Like this one, 6-2. I remember where I was, how I reacted, how my day was. But I can't remember anything from the day before.

Lol. This Arsenal - Chelsea final was such a good game. Thank goodness for the lockdown. Don’t have to watch the dregs of Arsenal. This version of Bellerin could power up and down the flanks. I hope he gets there by next season.

AOC was the weakest player on that cup final side. Don’t miss the bloke. Ramsey, Ozil, Sanchez, Bellerin, Mert and Holding all did well.

Mertesacker had a massive game. First game all season if I recall correctly, he was coming down in age and fitness for about two years before already and then pulled that out of nowhere to end his career with a trophy. Dearly missed, probably the best captain we've had since Vieira in terms of personality.

Haha "I can't score 90, sorry."

Don't think I will ever feel that adrenaline from any other transfers again compared to Llama

We were all shitting ourselves before the game began. We had assumed he was finished.

Now they’re playing Hull - Arsenal final. I’ll have to work later this evening. This Hull team was really filled with nobodies.

Was the most Arsenal thing ever when we had the chance to win our first trophy in God knows how long and then we're 2-0 down to a horrible team before a quarter of an hour was played.

Sanogo played 45 minutes of that final as well. We gave Hull every advantage

The forgotten Arsenal-Liverpool match, at the start of 2000/2001. 3 red cards and Lauren was a central midfielder for us (and scored).

Would love to find the full game.

The forgotten match of our UCL run. People often talk about the win at Bernabeu but this was equally amazing. Dominant win against Juve in their prime. Just look at a young Cesc romping everywhere. The intelligence of our players in the goals were lovely, brilliant reverse ball by Henry and a needle throughball by Hleb

Buffon, Del Piero, Cannavaro, Nedved, Vieira, Ibrahimovic, Zambrotta, Thuram, Trezeguet... Immense star power in a side that went on to be gutted by the match fixing scandal, but what a side it was.

Whatever else in his life, Eboue will always have Nedved and Zidane in his pocket

Eboue was unbelievable that season. Was convinced he was the new Cafu 😆

Messi too tbf in that 2011 game.

If there's a "forgotten game" in that run it's the Villarreal one. 😆 Although it wasn't much to remember either.

Jens' last minute penalty save was definitely a thing to remember.

Even now when you watch it and think back it is still unbelievable.

If he is playing for a deeper defence he will be twice the player he is.

Another Rambo Wembley winner? He couldn't, could he?

Middlesborough have just been dominated over the years.
7-0, 6-1, 5-3
woof

Takes all 3 mins for Viera's brilliance to come shining through
