Eddie looks a beast, albeit a bit eager to please which us understandable given his limited play time. He's gained so much power and an intensity to his game.
Just needs to get a bit more comfortable in the team and show a willingness to tryst his team mates at times rather than thinking he needs to do it all himself. Big balls to take it by the scruff of the neck but we don't want to miss opportunities with players in better positions by trying to hold onto the ball too long or taking a shot when there are better options.
Think it'll come when he realises he'll keep getting chances and doesn't have to be scared of being frozen out Pepe style.
That's an incredibly harsh reading of his run and shot last night. He'd have brought the house down if he'd put the ball away. I guarantee you, Ian Wright would absolutely not have passed having created that opportunity and nor should he have.
Don't think I was harsh at all RtC. Actually praised him for how he's come along technically and physically as well as being impressed with his attitude and application. Don't mean to sound like a hater by suggesting that as a young and somewhat bit part player he has plenty of room to grow as a player. It's only natural that someone with limited playing time will either go all out to impress or go in the opposite direction trying not to make mistakes. I like that he's going for it and trying to make things happen rather than shying away from the challenge.
At the moment he is laser focussed on scoring so all his movements with the ball are with the ourpose of getting a shot off, even in difficult circumstances. You could see it last night and you could see it against Fulham when we were at 1-1 and he was put through down the wing with Jesus in the middle. Both times he slowed down to use those runs as decoys so he could cut in a get the shot. Could he have played it earlier and maybe got a return pass or had space reated for someone else? Against Fulham when he chopped in for the shot maybe, maybe not. Last night though for sure.
In any case I'm not hating on him. He brings something to the team. A determination to make something happen, some extra pace and power, a pretty good ability to dribble with the ball and make runs in behjnd. It's not a stretch to think and hope that he'll be better when it comes to decision making the more game time he gets, and we'll only be better off for it.
