You get invited to many parties Sicario?

Its simple. He is our best prospect currently and we have lost many top young players past 5 years. Its important we don't lose one more when we are in dire financial state.

There's plenty of things to indicate how far we've fallen but I don't think being happy at keeping a significant talent is one of them. I'd have been gutted even if the team was full of starts.

I think what's super exciting about Saka isn't that he's putting in good performances, it's that he's actually making a difference and able to point to some really good numbers. Three goals and nine assists in 25 starts is nothing to be sniffed at even for an established player, never mind an 18yr old often stuck playing at full back.

Official. That was a quick turn around by orny

worthy of a glass of scotch. You sip on your juicebox Sicario 🙂

Saga comes to an end, roll credits.

I think Arteta should be grateful for having someone like Freddie in the management ranks, who I believe has been fundamental in Sako's promotion, growth as a player. Having that continued presence and tutelage is going to help him get closer to elite/ world class here for x amount of years.

Thank fuck for this! This is so vital for us.

Cue sharp decline in form. 😉

Good news though, now let's shift some of the deadwood.

As I said happy that he has signed.

A lot of credit should go to Emery for giving him his debut and offering him a chance.

I’m told Bukayo Saka has signed a 4 year contract, which runs to 2024 #arsenal #afc

Great news!

If he really did have City and/or Liverpool in his ear then we're very lucky he's chosen to remain loyal over what would have, in my opinion, been a better career choice.

Hopefully, it's a new era at Arsenal and we actually help the kid to grow into top player in whichever is his best position, don't run him into the ground and ruin him as a result, and put a team around him that gives him the opportunity to thrive.

Great stuff, was worried we might lose him.

Get Auba done for 2 or 3 more years now and I might just start believing in this club again.

Saka's great technically which isn't uncommon for our academy graduates but is also physically gifted and makes the right decisions on the pitch more often than not.

Even in this market, he's worth at least 30m.

He, Martinelli and Saliba are the ones we should be building around.

And Partey who had another stormer at the nou camp last night.

Good stuff. Let’s go Arsenal!

Interesting to see Saka pin point Luiz for special praise. Obviously a big presence in the dressing room.

Always has been. Its dangerous IMO, he's as likely to poison the atmosphere as raise it.

If only he wasn't such a dodgy defender. I think everywhere he went he had a winning mentality in the team

😆 Mr Burns as Stan is just perfect.

Exactly this.

And Saliba took the #4

Cool. Hopefully he can give us one more big show in the final. He's gone quiet since signing da ting

The Mesut method

Not really. Scored away at Wolves and set Auba up for a tap-in vs Leicester.

Lol, yeah, thats what I was thinking. I thought the 2 or 3 games after he signed da ting he played brilliant.

Nah, goal aside he was awful against Wolves. Really good vs Leicester though.

Either way it's clear the games have caught up with him.

He wasn't good, but still agree that it's weird to say that he's gone quiet since signing when he scored his first PL goal (and a very good one at that) in his first game after signing and then got a great assist the following game, both against teams above us on the table.

I forgot exactly when he signed tbh. I meant to say he's been quiet in his last few starts

Lad just got his first U21 callup for England in the upcoming Euro qualifiers against Kosovo and Austria.

Nketiah and Nelson got called up too, but they've been mainstays in the England U21 for a while now.

The golden boy. My favorite player from this squad.

Wow.
Main takeaway from that video is Arteta needs to bring up fouls on Saka in a few press conferences. Aston Villa sent different men to kick and elbow him all game long which took him out of the match. It’s annoying because you can’t give a single player a red card for it. They only booked 4 fouls versus Villa on Saka, but they’d made him a target.

Yeah its trickly alright, tbf the ref booked 2 of their players in the space of 5 minutes for it in the first half. Thats the sort of protection he doesn't get enough though. I think not getting the penalty against Leeds is more frustrating because he has to do that more often, its the only way to protect yourself and then VAR goes and says its not a foul, thats just bullshit.

Arseblog played a clip of Hector saying 'how many times ref', it's the sort of thing we need to do often.

I'm not sure mentioning it pre-game is a good thing though, you might get into the referees head but you also potentially get it into the opposition to target him.

Anyway, pretty much every player who can run with the ball at pace gets fouled frequently, we just need to use it to our advantage and win them in the final third.
