Thought we are selling Bellerin?

The Bellerin hate is really OTT. Over the course of his career he's shown more ability than AMN, who just a couple of months ago people were yet again writing off for the umpteenth time due to his 'attitude'. Let's also not forget that last season people were writing him off due to the fact he had a bad habit of switching off during games.

Bellerin should stay - big game player and borderline Arsenal legend. AMN’s had two good games for us, let’s chill.

Nobody hates Bellerin...

He is one of our only valuable asset I feel is expendable simply because his pace is all gone post injury. Let's not forget he played a big part in our winning goal. But objectively speaking AMN performances at RB this year is head and shoulders above Bellerin on average

Bellerin is coming back from effectively a two year injury - he’s looked a lot better in the last month, like his old self.

Bellerin is an underrated big personality within the squad and still relatively young. AMN has done well recently and looks to be maturing (finally) but I would keep the Spaniard - he has Arsenal DNA. As an example, next NLD or a big cup game you can count on Hector to be one of the players most up for it.

To be honest I’d rather keep AMN but it’s a bit of a given that if the price is right then any one of our fullbacks bar Tierney can go and AMN and Hector are the two who could realistically raise some good money. Apparently we want £30m plus, if we get that’s its hard to argue that it couldn’t be better utilised elsewhere in the team.

He's been at Arsenal since his mid-teens. Maitland-Niles has been here since he was 6.

Maitland-Niles was better than Bellerin in the FA Cup final too, and on average he's going to be a better player to have around for the 36 games that aren't NLD-s next season. He's younger, fitter and much more flexible. It makes no sense to sell him, let alone to sign fucking Cedric on a 4-year deal and then sell this lad.

Plus he’s far more versatile.

As for Cedric, it makes sense if you want to raise funds.

Maitland is better than bellerin but there's only Auba who is indispensable and possibly Xhaka because we fall apart drastically when he isn't in the team. Everybody else is available in my opinion.

I’d say Aubameyang, Tierney, Saka and Martinelli. But, yeah, like you I’m not going to lose my mind over incomings and outgoings. Let’s see how it settles in October

Think it has become apparent what kind of transfer window we are going to have.. Free agents, loans, redundancies.

Was of the opinion last year that we probably blew this years budget on Pepe/Tierney etc. with the hope we would get champions league.. That didn't happen obviously and now it looks like now we are going to have to raise serious funds in order to invest.

Luckily this is one of the few summers we actually have players that there would be potential interest in and we have a player of similar quality available

Guendouzi
Nelson
1/2 Centre backs

We could get a decent amount for the above and shouldn't be too hard to shift if we really wanted to.. for all the hate about 'agent based' transfers, you would think one of the clear advantages of that is that we can sell players more easily.. I'm all for it personally if we manage to get the right players in.

Related to the 55 employees who lost their jobs, I think we could see folks we are fond of like AMN leave the club in a bid to balance the books 🙁

This forum was also up in arms last season when we sold Iwobi. If we get a good fee, I am not against it. We are not exactly in a position to have a back-up fullback as good as AMN when there are gaping holes all across the squad. It's a difficult decision to make but one that is needed. We need to liquidate our high value assets who are not starters and reinvest that in the first XI.

If it is a case of AMN or Bellerin, I'd rather AMN stay but I can see the logic either way.

For me Nelson is RW backup, Eddie striker, ESR CAM and Willock CM. If you think you've got a lot of depth just because players can play in multiple posirions you end up with too few players.

They are all interchangeable. Nelson has played LW plenty, ESR can play wing, Eddie is a striker but Auba can move to the wing and arguably is better there, etc So the "but Saka will get burnt out if we don't sign Willian" doesn't fly, at all. And thats before you even get into the reality that there are world of options beyond a 32 year Chelsea cast off on massive wages.

I think we should have a backup for each position. I don't think that because a player can play four different positions we only need fewer players because that one player can provide backup to them.

I have never seen him play, for that money we should just buy Partey, right? Is this guy any good? Seems to have been around & highly rated for a while now, impressive as he is still only 22.

It's Sky so it's probably reliable. Wonder if it's because Partey talks have stalled? Or if we are trying to force Madrid's hand by opening negotiations elsewhere.
