Probably the best move we can make to strengthen the attack is to add a physical target man type. Would given us more options and allow us to really take advantage of the good crosses Tierney, Saka and Cedric supply

Makes sense if he would agree to take take a bit of a loss, we pay 4m. They pay 4m and make it back in shirt sales. Ozil makes some sponsorship money because at the moment his deal is probably not worth a lot it'll hopefully cover some of his wages hed be missing out on. Their is the oppertunity to sort this.

Hes completely stealing a living here and putting no effort in and hasn't shown any glimpse of ambition to rebuild a career.

To think he's "only" 31 years old. We really made an excellent deal when we bought him. Nobody could've known that he would just give up on football altogether, so what we reasonably expected was that he would still be that great player up until now.

That's actually insane thinking that he is just 31. A great playmaker like him should be able to play until 35 at a good club no problem. He stopped trying at 28-29.

It makes more sense in terms of looking to replace goals to share the load across more players who can score on a regular basis, as yet again we are overly reliant on one player to do so, (which is something AW said we could not do post RVP, & just like he said we would not let players depart for free after Flamini went to Milan. AW has gone but the issue/s remain).

Finding a quality creative mid appears to be the toughest task. There are numerous options for centrebacks, wingers and forwards and a few defensive mids

Isn't it Pasalic? He could be an interesting Ramsey replacement. Quite a similar player from the little I have seen of him.

It’s Freuler and de Roon typically. You really need to watch this team. They’re so dynamic. The player you probably want is Freuler. They play as a double pivot in a 343 but it’s much more dynamic than Arsenal’s. Freuler is incredible on the ball. He runs with it really well down the center - probably better than Ramsey at this. Atalanta are about getting the ball up quickly and attacking with an interchangeable front 3. Freuler gets up to support them. Sometimes when the exciting left fullback Gosens pushes way up, then he pulls left and covers that slot as well.

The one problem with scouting any Atalanta player though is they’re all older. Gosensis about 25 but Freuler is probably the youngest of the other stars at 28. And I do wonder to what extent they’ll shine away from Gasperini. Make no mistake. The manager is the star here. He’s lost his highest potential players and still achieved this.

I would go further than that.

It will really be up to Arteta as to how much change he wants. I always believe that when a manger first comes in, that is when the carnage should happen.

Xhaka for example was meant to be our deep lying playmaker, and while he has performed well of late, he still does not dictate a game, nor does he protect the back, nor is he mobile.

Torreira, Guendouzi, and Xhaka should all be moved if possible.

Completely rebuild the midfield. Willock should be worked with, so we can see what we have.

A DM, DLP and a creative type should all be sought after, and if you can squeeze more, then do it.

Arteta has a massive rebuilding job, and it starts in midfield.

Absolutely. I keep saying we need three new midfielders, but that won't happen in one window. Maximum two this window which I'd be delighted with.

Question is if Ceballos is one of those two, is that adequate?

I’d find a way to loan to buy Ceballos. And then get 2 super quality starters

Would be good to get Ceballos secured for at least another season, but with Partey seemingly out of contention might give us more scope to go after Aouar from Lyon. Maybe we can offer a player or 2 in exchange. Still need another couple of options.

Domestically I like Jon McGinn from Villa and think even Grealish could do well for us. Loftus-Cheek is another one I like as he has good technique and a physicality we are missing from our midfield, but worry about about his injury record. With Chelsea's new signings I'm not sure how much game time he would get next season so we might be get him for a reasonable fee.
