On a positive note...
... I've been wondering why Arteta sticks with the Three Stooges in the back line. I think it's the same reason that Ozil is now frozen out. He has decided how he wants to build his team and is trying to engrain his way of playing, as painful a process as that may be. He envisions a team that starts with a strong base of ball-playing centre backs. Although Sokratis and Holding might be stronger in other aspects than Mustafi et al, they cannot fulfil this.
In Klopp's first season 4 years ago, he inherited a mid table team that played Blobfish's 352. He put them into his 4231 mostly, but kept trying different formations to see what worked. I remember he struggled at first, going a few weeks before his first win. His first domestic campaign was anything but successful but he persevered at teaching the formation and tough pressing style despite the tribulations.
His squad? That Liverpool team's incredible transfer team had just bought Firmino for £20m. On the other hand, the same guys had also just paid £30m for Benteke, and sent Sterling to City. So hang in there, the night may appear dark but the sun will rise.
