We've only had more shots than the opposition in 2 out of 9 league games apparently. I haven't checked myself so I don't know if it's true but it sounds reasonable.
I think the reason Arteta is cut some slack is that the bottom completely went out of the team right before Emery left. I genuinely don't remember a point where I've seen us worse. Arteta deserves some credit for making the players and the fans care again. I really think he needs to keep in mind that winning is what makes a team tick though, not draws, which is just another way of saying you lost two points. No one goes home and feels good about their clean sheet after 0-0 against Burnley. When you don't create enough you don't win enough, and tensions build up again quickly.
We tend to play with less restraint when the younger players are on the pitch, so hopefully we go out there and kill Portsmouth on monday to make a statement and get back on track. Martinelli is sitting at home right now and counting the minutes until he gets to show Arteta why he deserves a starting spot. Eddie is definitely sharpening his knives. Hopefully Willock and Guendouzi are busy plotting victory too.
