Arteta has always spoken well but Arsenal are the football masters of talking a great game that you don't really disagree with it's just we don't seem to transfer that to the pitch.
I accept that a limited squad means that competing at the top tier is difficult to impossible over a season. But like Qwiss said that doesn't really explain the current form and problems we are having.
There is plenty of reference to the long term we just need to keep going but we have be able to review and measure progress. One of the things that has been put up is this suggestion that we know how to play the top teams etc. But while we've had some results we've also had plenty of defeats not really enough stacked up to say the plan works. I don't take the defeats against City and Liverpool as positives because we lost pretty comfortably on both occasions and both teams look vulnerable this year as a number of sides have shown.
I think it's fair to look at what transpires this season and if Arteta hasn't been able to improve us over that 18 month period then there has to be questions about him and whether he remains at the club. He knew what the issues were here and what he'd be working with he took that on because he believed he could handle that, the risk with that is you have to get some tangible improvement quickly.
