He's less tempted and more forced. It's a batshit insane schedule and all he's got are a handful of promising kids and older players on the decline.
At least Xhaka and Laca are in their prime. That's not Arteta's fault, it's the shambolic policies of Wenger, Gazidis, and Raul. Those have knock-on effects that hamstring us now, which force further bad decisions as they feel like your only choice, and the hole just gets deeper. Without stadium revenue things will only get worse. If Xhaka, Laca, Luiz, Mustafi, Ceballos, Ozil, Sokratis, etc. are all purged and replaced over the next 18 months, and we still play just like this, then we can lay real blame. If the rest of the technical team don't believe in Arteta's methods, we should replace him now before we spend more on his team.
What we shouldn't do is fire him without any clear vision of where we go from there. It'll just prolong this period, it won't solve anything. If the vision is one that had Arteta in it, he's got to stay.
