Schalke have announced Alexander Nübel will leave the club, I believe his contract is up. Bayern bound?

Being linked with a cut price deal for Dries Mertens. Despite his advancing years he’s in decent form and is a clever little player. I’d be for it.

This is exactly the kind of recruitment we need to run away from.

Links to Pau Torres, must say would prefer him to Upa.

Should have gone for Minamino if looking for a cut price deal.

Xhaka close to hertha berlin move according to kicker

Who do you get in january to replace him?

Not sure we need to replace him. Might try Torreira back there and look for 8s.
We can go old: Rakitic
We can go mid career: Neves
We can go young: Soumaré, Szoboszlai

In midfield I'd like a mid career player. Someone with a bit of leadership who can help Douzi, Torreira and Willock.

Cavani joining Atleti on a free once his contract ends at PSG.

What a coup

How many forwards do they need?

Haven't they been severely lacking up front this season?

Yes. Morata has been decent, Felix is very promising but they dearly miss Griezmann and a fully it Diego Costa.

It is kind of glossed over but any other coach would have been crucified by the media if they had a similar track record to Simeone when it comes to signing strikers/attacking players.

Szoboszlai is more of an 10 than an 8 right now from what I've seen, but the kid has so much going for him. On top of his other worldly ball striking and general technical ability, he's quick and covers ground really well, and has the frame at comfortably over 6 foot to be a handful physically.

I'd love to see what a really good coach could make of him (nice to think that description might now be applicable to our head coach). I think he could be moulded into a player that is the brain of the team, whilst also being able to hold his own defensively. Would love a January move.

Playing as a 10 as you say, but he's incredible physical assets that would allow him to play more flexibly. I'm also imagining that if Arteta does indeed play with a midfield V, he won't have a lone 10, but two attacking midfielders, and Szoboszlai could be one of those 2. He's one of those guys we have to get to before Lyon or Dortmund do and act as an intermediary to the big clubs.

Neves is 22, Claude. Two years older than Soumare and three years older than Szoboszlai.

I think he's unobtainable, but I'd give anything to have him.

Left one or right one Klaus?

Yeah. Difference is unlike the other 2 he will be able to come in and immediately be a regular, dependable starter. He’s also had to play a couple of positions already so has some flexibility as well.

On obtaining him, I think the combination of Raul and Arteta can work on Mendes and him respectively, but Wolves will want a decent multiple on their £16m

Wolves can take both of Raul's first, and if that's not enough I might reluctantly offer up my leftie to sweeten the deal.
