It’s not even about spending real money, Meaty. It’s about understanding how to win in sports. The Kroenkes just don’t build consistently strong clubs in any sport. And they have shown they have no clue what they are doing in English football. Spurs have slightly less money and Leicester have way less money but look at how both have performed in recent recent seasons. They are just more decisive and have clearer visions.
Liverpool started with less money than us and are now purring. People keep talking about how lucky Liverpool are l, but it’s a bit the same as the more successful businesses you read about in research like Good to Great. Given the same set of operating conditions, some organisations become consistently successful while others go the other way. It’s all about the practices and systems that they build. Ricky mentioned something of Liverpool’s statistical mastery, but this is also supported by a contracting team that completes trades quickly, often creating value in the process. Contrast with Arsenal where we go several seasons with holes at given positions and holding players who are failures.
This is why I want the Kroenkes out. They came from the most advanced sports market in the world and failed to apply best practices. All they did was, implement Stat DNA in isolation thus negating its value. They’re a cancer killing our club
