Well, we aren't going to play that way against United! They're not disciplined enough, we can bait them and then break ourselves, but our forwards need to play their part.

Problem is xhaka is always batman, the guy sucks up all the midfield oxygen and forces us to play at his tempo. He's just a redundant cloggage next to partey, that partnership is the equivalent of lacazette and aubameyang - completely lacking synergy. Problem is arteta wants him in that xabi role, and playing him and partey together scratches that rafa-esque conservative itch he has

Especially because Partey can do the distributor role miles better than Xhaka anyway, in addition to all the other stuff he brings.

Eddie, PEA and Lacazette all on 3 goals in all comps now. Pépé with 2. Balogun only 3 behind the leaders. Early days but will be interesting to see who can get into double figures.

Yep. Technique = touch, shooting/passing execution, manipulation of the ball close to the body, things like that.

Pepe has "flair" moreso than the above (consistently anyway).

Pepe has all of that though. Like you said it's consistency he lacks, there's a certain rawness to him as far as the basics go.

Someone like Tierney is technically very consistent, but then his technical ceiling is a lot lower. I don't think that necessarily means he's technically better.

Yes he was you could see how fustrated he was at team mates making the wrong runs and he'd be shouting at them during games explaining where they should have went. He used to look like he wanted to kill some of them at times. He understood the space. Now don't get me wrong he was a huge risk taker he's not a player you bring in to play the percentages. Which is why he had such a hard time adapting to loosing pace aand adapting to barcas keep the ball system.

We’ve had this guy for 6 or 7 years. There’s bigger forces at play. As a team we kill talent. We’ve done well to let Saka progress. But since we started moving Wenger to one year deals, a lot of things have gone wrong with how we think about long term team building. AMN should be either far advanced or have a clear utility role, or be at Burnley. He’s still a kid with potential but not really.
