Illicic really is something else.

Spuds shoulda been buried, RB Leipzig so wasteful.

And Leipzig is often average at home

Only good thing is Spurs have no strikers up front

We should really beat Spurs away.

Watching a bit of the game last night, I can now relate to what folks on here were saying about Lo Celso and Ndombele. That pairing is going to be a real problem as they play more in this final run up to next season. I hope we can assemble something with that kind of quality and durability.

Was hoping to see Upamecano play; not sure why he wasn't even in the match day squad. However, still enjoyed watching bit of Leipzig. Players are very confident in tight corridors in the final third, and with good short passing they turn contracted play into opened attack almost at will. Thats what Werners all about isn't he? Turn on a dime racemouse.

Leipzig have a injury crisis of their own at the moment. All three of their main centerbacks (Upmecano, Konate and Orban) were injured for this game.

Chelsea are getting bummed tonight.

Lovely break by Conman. Should’ve done better with the shot. I want them to do to Chelsea what they did to us under Ancelotti

Dries Mertens is now officially Napoli's all time top scorer (tied with Hamsik). I just love that bloke. Great goal for the occasion too:

Gnabry loves scoring against our London rivals. We should borrow him for derbies

Two goals for Gnabry. What a finisher!

gnabry with the reminder why i don't usually watch bayern games.

Alphonso Davies, what a player.

What?

Coutinho goes for the volley with both feet like a circus seal.

Considering how desperate we were for a winger in recent years, I'm still constantly surprised at how gnabry turned out. I genuinely didn't see this kind of potential in him at any point at arsenal

What a run by him to set up the assist.

This is hilarious! I can’t say I’m not enjoying this

Would love him here if we didn’t have Saka.

Have a feeling when we are back in the CL that he’ll cook us too 🙁

Some nice reflections on that from Monsieur Wenger himself.

What?

out of sight out of mind. the less i have to think about how gnabry isn't here anymore the better.

Ah, I see. Thought you meant that he did something wrong which reminded you that Bayern were a bunch of assholes.

Very impressive performance by Muller tonight.

He seems to have rediscovered his mojo in the last few months after Kovac left and Hansi Flick took over.

Low may have to eat his words and reintegrate him in the NT for the euros.

Take Azpi didn’t do that sticky out tongue thing last night

Lovely seeing Chelsea getting outplayed like that. The difference in class was huge. Thiago is an incredible midfielder. He can do everything.

He was brilliant.
But what about Thiago. He put in a stellar performance. Proper general. Incredible quality of passing in the middle of the park

Not all that surprising, Chelsea are not miles away from us and United in terms of current level and none of us are anywhere near Bayern's level. Is nice for Bayern to batter another club for once though rather then us.

Opta says they’ve come to England in the last 8 years and put 3 goals past everyone: United, Chelsea, Spurs and us (2x).

As for Chelsea, let their fans see what life looks like for the 99%. This is what happens when you are no longer bounding ahead on the back of financial doping

Bayern loves to play in London, or more specifically Gnabry. In 2 matches he has scored more goals in London than Lacazette 😆 Is he the biggest talent we ever let go for peanuts? He is genuinely world class.

I was watching Alponso Davies last night and thinking of Saka. Similar type of players and although obviously Davies is much much faster like a rocket, he started as a winger but couldn't break into the team before being converted to such an amazing LB. Someone who knew North American football commented in the gold cup thread last july that Davies is absolutely crap, wonder what he thinks of it now as a LB.

At least we were down to ten men for a full half. Before Koscielny did his usual thing and shat the bed we were even ahead, yesterday and Tottenham were a lot worse

I think Jones wasn't a fan of Davies either (not a knock on you Jones, for all I know he wasn't a good winger), but as a leftback this season he's been great. Very few players start out as fullbacks, most great fullbacks have played as a winger or a CM some time in their youth.

Yeah I thought he looked very poor early on. Credit to Kovac for redesigning him as a player although you'll obviously never hear a Bayern pig say that.

Odd....have they not been playing well?

Haven't watched much of Real Madrid (or Barca either) this season, and it seems I've forgotten just how good the technical quality is of just about every single player.

They're still dodgy defensively, but they are levels above the PL's best techncial team in City.

The difference to the technical quality on display at Arsenal is just tragic! 😆

Same with Bayern yesterday. Just seeing Thiago controlling that midfield, godly. Real Madrid are an incredibly high quality team, Ricky. Even their center backs are better than our midfielders on the ball. They just lack the superlative power of someone like a Cristiano or Mbappe. They need to sort that out this summer.

It would have helped if we choose to sign players like Valverde permanently when he is with us.

Yeah, the big weakness in Real right now is the lack of a powerful goal threat. I think they will probably do whatever it takes for Mbappe again after he said no to them last time and chose PSG.
