I think Nelson is playing it smart, this is his first proper game for Arsenal. As the confidence builds he will accelerate.

Mkhitaryan is such a weird player.

Yeah, Willock should come deeper and outnumber their midfield, Mkhi is way too inconsistent.

I think I'd replace Willock with Ceballos today, that number 10 in Emerys team is really difficult and I think Ceballos looks like he'd be able to get on the ball more than Willock has. Not a big slight on Willock by the way, just today he's a bit raw and struggling to make an impact on the game.

We definitely do. We can't give up more space in midfield or they'll start getting more and more chances. Think the midfield pair have been ok today. Its the front mostly who aren't clicking, understandable with 2 teenagers thrown in today.

Think Auba, Willock and Chambers were our best players in the first half. Maitland-Niles was good too. The rest range somewhere in-between quiet and disappointing. For a moment Mkhitaryan made me think we had Sanchez back. You know the end-stage Sanchez who lost possession 36 times in a single Premier League game.

You are right about Mkhi as, even though he fluffed the clearest chance, he has been involved in most of the openings we have created.
As for the kids, Nelson is not a winger, Willock is not a number 10 and Guendouzi started off well but fell away midway through the half.
It has to be said that if Jonjo Shelvey is the most creative looking player on the pitch, changes need to be made.

Fair - I feel like Willock would be more comfortable a little further back, for the reason you've stated. Makes me wonder how reliant we're going to end up being on Ceballos.

Fwiw, I actually think Willock has had some good moments but they're when he has made a bit of space for himself further back

Willock barely got on the ball and when he did he was as likely to lose the ball as do anything constructive with it.
