Upamecano would be the dream but even so both defence (especially if Tierney hits the ground running) and midfield so far look better than last season, and that's disregarding the massive factor for our whole game that is Pepe

Great news on Auba because he only had a year left, I would have been okay with leaving Lacazette until next summer when he would have 2 years left and deciding whether to sell or extend.

Still, if it's correct, it's great news they've both extended with minimal fuss. In line with the squad really being happy with what's going on at the club right now and where we're headed.

its weird that his twitter handle still has bbc in it, and his bio still says he writes for the bbc. i wonder if his contract with the bbc stipulated he had to keep writing for them through transfer deadline day. the athletic has confirmed he joined them, but i dont think hes written anything for them yet

Robbie Earle on SSN waxing lyrical about Edu after meeting him in the US. He says Edu is a seriously impressive man and that our big bad Brazilian told him that he had "2 or 3 big deals in the pipeline that he was confident of getting over the line".
