Chelsea reminds me of our past. Good build up play, good midfield, below average defence and shit strikers. We had Giroud/Sanogo they have Giroud/Abraham.

We are completely the opposite now, average performance but top strikers always bail us out.

I don't think fans/pundits have adjusted to just how extraordinarily weak this Chelsea squad is.

They haven't had so few quality players for getting on for 20 years.

At least when folks were prematurely raving about how Sarri revolutionised Chelsea he actually had won a few games convincingly. Lampard has 1 point and two decent halves.

Maybe Lampard is a good manager. Maybe he isn't. But after Solskjær last season surely we've learned to at least give it half a season before jumping the gun

It’s quite explicit. Even Ranieri had a much better team before Russian money arrived. They’ll have the same struggles as United last season but with even less quality. We have to stay focused.

It’s a mid table front 3 and back line. I’d be amazed if they finished anywhere near top 4.

Absolutely. He's only managed 3 competitive games with Chelsea so it's way too early to make a judgement but I find it very hard to understand the praise some are giving him for his perceived "identity". To me it looks similar to some of Wenger most recent teams who played decent and entertaining football at times but fell apart like a house of cards when put under pressure.

I actually think that anything good about how Chelsea play at the moment is down to Sarri more than Lampard. A lot of their transitioning up the field feels pretty similar to how it did last year. Be interesting to see how long that sticks around.
