We don’t really have kids. We’ve sent everyone who needed development time out on loan. Which is probably ultimately better for them. Balogun, Patino, Norton-Cuffy, Biereth, Tavares and even Trusty are all out getting consistent game time. You would’ve kept them to play 6 games instead of a full first round of matches elsewhere.

Worth noting on Saliba. This team is a lot better not only because of him, but also due to Jesus and Zinchenko impact, and later Trossard. Zin has been a tactical marvel this season. And that has helped enhance Saliba’s image - because he doesn’t carry any of the baggage of last 2 seasons of struggle. The players we’ve had before carry trauma of yesteryear’s mishaps.

Sicario2 Absurd. We're currently having one of the best seasons in Arsenal's entire history. It's a worry those amazing results now seem to be collapsing, but it's more than ridiculous you should pop up now to question Arteta's future in the role.

Unfortunately, if we bottle it this season we will always have this lingering feeling of ‘what if’. That to me is not one of our greatest seasons. You judged at the end of the season not what you’ve done half way through.

Arteta has a lot to blame if we fuck up this season. From the signing of Vieria/Kiwor to playing Saliba against Sporting to making shit subs last two games. It’s on him.

Like @Gunner89 said, we either rotate the entire team in Europa like what WHU did, or we play to win. We did neither of both, half half of each.

A few games since signing might not be enough to get him up to speed. We've not seen enough of Kiwior to see whether he's just rusty or whether there's a bit of development needed there. Of all positions to give a bit of game time, centreback is one of the most difficult to get right because you're changing such a fundamental area.

Tam Yeah exactly. Arteta started Kiwior where he could, in the first leg of the Europa tie. I think if Gabriel was out instead of Saliba he'd have some hope of getting a start now but there is no way Arteta is going to throw him into the PL at this point unless his hand is forced. One of Kiwiors strengths is reported to be his passing but do people really want to see if he can hit the ground running with that, under a PL press next week? Thats crazy to me, its took quite a while for our players to learn to play out under the press. Seems like Kiwior is a signing for next season. Hopefully the extra time here lets him adapt better before then.

You do realise this is most probably an injury he would've picked up regardless of him playing that Sporting game or not?

QuincyAbeyie Probably means it was an issue he had either been playing with, or kept quiet. I'm by no means a professional athlete, but have suffered with upper back issues myself for a few years now. I can play football for 4 or 5 months and not feel a thing, but once it flares up again it is then extremely difficult to shake off (that's without numerous doctors and physios looking at me haha). I completely understand why Arsenal are being so cautious.

I think we take the plunge and play him v City. Give him a few injections and be done with it. If he misses he rest of the season so be it. He’s a 20 year old kid, he will be back in no time for next season. No risk no reward.

Holding v Haaland we might as well switch off the tv.

What if risking him impacts his health beyond this season? I'm no expert (so happy for someone more informed to educate me) but often with these kinds of injuries, taking risks when someone's not 100% ready can make things much worse in the long-run. I wouldn't want to fuck up the long-term potential of Saliba for the sake of this run-in.

i'm not watching if it's holding against haaland. saliba against haaland is difficult enough. i'd rather learn after that holding channeled [insert great CB name here] and then watch it later.

It's two draws away from home. I remember following one of the great Wenger sides away from home for a season and seeing us win just 5 times.

Joe Worrall's team don't play with a high line and proactive football. Put Holding in such mid table team he will do well too
