I think we sometimes overestimate how calculated players are. Read too much into comments he made while on loan when his future here was uncertain, apply cynicism on his recent comments about him being happy here.

In reality players most likely just make comments on how they're feeling at any given moment. And you can very visibly see he's loving life here. They all are. Who wouldn't?

I noticed Saliba clowning around (in a positive/fun way) after Gabriel’s goal and also Martinelli’s. Seemed he was teasing both of them and it caught me eye. Hope he’s finding his comfort zone at the club and with all of the players….will only help him stay!

He is back on form it's great to see. When he played alongside Kiwior on Thursday the difference between them was vast made me realise just good he really is.

I wonder if he'll take the number 2 next season or if he's found some affinity with the 12.

James I remember seeing it on TV and couldn't really believe it. Was quite something and did accelerate the attack enormously which led to the goal. Good to see he's discovering his best form at the right time

James He is unbelievable on the ball. The thing I like about him is he knows when to keep it simple and when to go long. He is not like Luiz type that keep trying Hollywood balls and build a reputation of a ball playing defender etc.

I noticed this when he was on loan at Marseille, which is why sometimes when people mentioned in the past that the reason he wasn't good enough for us was because of his quality on the ball I found that very peculiar.

he had a minor post-WC wobble, but he's stabilised and is looking stellar again. the benefit of having 2 top quality centre halves is one of them can carry the load when the other hits a dip.
