Was going to say the same thing. There's no clear comparison between Saliba in Ligue 1 and White in the PL, it's not like their relative rate of major errors or ability to influence play can be apples versus apples.
But yeah if we happen to be in Europe—very far from a given—I reckon it would mean both Saliba wanting to come here, and us having acres of room in the squad for all three of Saliba, White and Gabriel, with the former able to play across both positions, and White maybe able to fill in at right back as well.
In the meantime, the most concrete thing about Saliba's situation remains that he's under contract with us until June 2024, which is bloody ages away.
