Haaland is just a poor footballer. Exceptional finishing and movement and has otherwordly physical attributes but his overall game is just lacking. If he isn't being fed through on goal, or doesn't have space he is invisible. He's what I would imagine Inzaghi would have looked like with insane speed, height, and strength.

I think Guardiola keeps playing him for the same reason we kept playing Martinelli even though he was immune to scoring and assisting earlier in the season. Which is funny considering how much you hate Doku. 😆

Gurgen Don't agree on the penalty point but agree with your general comment on Gabriel being the better of the two, though it's a paper fine dividing line. I've not re-watched the game so based on my initial, and possibly shaky, recollection, a few of Saliba's passes out from the back put our midfielders in trouble a few times, which I don't think is an issue we had with Gabriel.

I was worried about Gabriel's mentality at a few points. In years gone by he might have let the emotion get to him but he's showing real maturity these days. I've said before that I was concerned that he didn't have that level of development in him, but he's proven me wrong on more than a few big occasions.

Haha, true, I am very biased when it comes to Martinelli.

By the way, I don't hate Doku, I actually love that he plays so much for City. 😂

But seriously, there is absolutely no comparison between the two aside from they are both fast and direct and try to take their man on. Martinelli does so much off the ball and defensively for us even when he isn't scoring and assisting.

But more importantly, Martinelli has shown a proven ability to find end product from last season to when he first broke through under Emery. Even when he's missing chances it's narrowly wide or blocked most of the time. Doku doesn't have anywhere near the composure Martinelli has in the box.

I haven't seen City fans, players or coaches bringing it up either, nor was it highlighted by pundits. Even Haaland's appeal was half hearted and City players don't need an excuse to surround the ref. I think you're seeing something that isn't there.

Plus livid or not, how many stonewall penalties, on scales of maginutde much worse than this one, have not been given to us? Fuck City, doesn't matter how much Haaland cries, Gabriel violated him.

shout out to wilo for his sheer availability this season, and the level of consistency as well. this isn't normal for a 23 year old centre half. who knows where we finish last season if he stayed fit
