Fake news! Hillary actually won but Putin dressed up as Wolf Blitzer and called the election for Trump.
The point is they’re not soothsayers. They do statistical modeling with a given level of confidence. What they predicted still had decent allowance for a Trump win. The bigger question coming out of that election (and still) is not the modeling, but the ability of pollsters to get accurate numbers re issues like changing demographics, so-cakes shy republicans etc. All this gets baked into any analysis you do. A bit like Potter trying to coach a shit team. Doesn’t matter how good a coach he is if some of his inputs are dodgy
