Honestly if we asked me last week I wouldn't have been sure purely based on limited youtube viewings, but fuck it, after reading Ricky's posts over the last few days I'm well on board the hype train now. It's also a significantly less risky than the Zaha deal would have been (despite him supposedly being more proven).

He was playing as GK less than 10 years ago. Only had two good seasons at Lille in an average league.

£72m is somewhat of a gamble?

Around Xmas I thought Pepe was a bit of a flash in the pan hype player but as the seasons gone on he just never stopped being brilliant. I actually thought he was out of reach for us this summer. You never really know with guys coming from France but I reckon he's going to be great. And he's only just turned 24 so even if it takes a little while to settle he'll still be here for his best years anyway.

Matthijs de Ligt and Jadon Sancho were in elementary school little over 10 years ago, probably pissed themselves occasionally too. You think Juve made a bad deal because they signed bedwetting MDL for a record fee?

De Ligt came through Ajax’s academy and has been known for some time as Europe’s ‘up and coming’ defender. Fact that he captained his boyhood club shows that he has maturity beyond his years. As we all have seen, he also has vital CL experience being instrumental in Ajax reaching the semi-finals.

As far as I know, Pépé’s history as a player is not as rich. MDL is less of a gamble esp when he will be working alongside players like Bonnuci and Chileni to ease him into the side/club/league/country.
